I don’t know whether Chermerinsky is Jewish himself. I notice so many Jews now expressing their shock at being targeted by the howling mob. Whether or not Chermerinsky is shocked just because his people are now on the chopping block, or because at long last he is finally able to see the Regressive Left in its full flower, the entire mainstream Left has happily ceded ground to the violent crazies for decades. Including mist American Jews. They’ve been just fine with the rioting, burning, murdering, harassing, canceling, deplatforming, firing, intimidating and savage excoriating of anyone who doesn’t tie the radical left line of the week. But now, heavens! They feel so isolated, aluenated, dissociated from the mob.

Well, yes, as GR says, welcome to the party. But will they for one moment examine how it is they failed to notice the growing anti-civilization savagery the political tribe they have so assiduously supported has increasingly demonstrated for decades? I doubt it.

A lot of people are getting a wake-up call right now. Whether they actually wake up remains to be seen.

We always talk about the “far right” and anti-semitism ... but the truth is that what is called the “far right” means far right by Stalin’s standards. The modern concept of right and left are defined by communists and marxists, fascists and national socialists. It has to do with the right and left wings of socialism, nothing to do with conservatives, libertarians, liberals, etc. National Socialists and Fascists are on the Right and Marxists, Socialists, Bolsheviks, etc on the Left. Anti-Semitism is a collectivist behavior, not an individualist, liberal behavior. If you believe in liberalism, individualism, individual rights, you are not also Anti-Semitic. And vice versa.

The Jewish community in Nazi Germany thought if you ignore Hitler and his cohorts they will eventually go away but that's not what happened. If we ignore the woke majority on college campuses we do so for our own danger. These people don't go away and when they seize ultimate power no one is safe. "First they came for the Jews."

Your mouth to God's ear. Sadly, while some alumni are reacting, I'm not seeing anything serious on the state level. No hope of the federal with this administration.

Unfortunately our much aligned fbi is busy chasing parents who object to school boards and picket abortion clinics. Obviously too busy to bother with the antisemitism of the left.

If Chemerinsky had opened his eyes, he would have seen it. And I believe he did see it. But he was hoping it was nothing.

Someone ought to make a Claude Raines Casablanca meme....'shocked there is anti-semitism here'.

I practice medicine near Memphis and an orthopedic surgeon was shot by a deranged patient recently. Now my friend, practice partner and fellow physician- who is Jewish- is worried he could be a target by an anti Semitic patient. Maybe this is how early 1930s Germany was like.

Thank you, Glenn, for this very clear and fact-filled explanation of the situation. Let us hope that there is recognition of the problem by leadership at the colleges and universities where this is happening (and has been for some time, as you point out).

I think that Erwin should have Steve Sailer up to Berkeley for a course in "noticing."

it's good that at least some people in responsible positions are waking up to the murderous, if not genocidal intentions of those who claim to oppose "settler colonialism" in Israel. But the majority population of North America are "settler colonists" like me, and too few seem to see that the writing on the wall means us.

Isn't Chermerinsky the law professor Hugh Hewitt would call one the the smartest legal minds in the country? Not sure what that says about ether one of them

The good Dean saw what was happening and isn’t shocked that it has come for him. He just hopes we don’t notice that he missed the signs. He now wants our sympathy and support. I have been telling my fellow Jews this is coming for years. They, as well as the Dean, have my support but not my sympathy

Puzzled about inclusion of two citations that mention Zionists but not Jews.
