I was at the gym this morning and the TV had the news running in the free weight section. The folks in there at 5:30 AM are 30-50 years old, generally, and look like they are on the moderately liberal part of the political spectrum. This is the Pacific Northwest, after all. The local news started showing pictures of the Anti-Israel encampment at University of Washington. Every single person that saw it was shaking their heads and clearly not happy about it. Two women were muttering about “those idiots”. It feels to me like a Summer of 1968 scenario, Silent Majority, and all that.

Professor, this is perfect:

“Spoiled, privileged, entitled children on a rampage is a good metaphor for leftist politics in general, and don’t think people aren’t noticing.”

And maybe, just maybe certain groups will realize they are just tools to be used and discarded by the Ds. I doubt it but one can dream.

Of course the lawless students frequently get their motivation from their teachers and somewhere between 5 and 20% of delegates to the Democratic Presidential Nominating convention will be teachers or non instruction education professionals or officials in the teacher's unions.. I wouldn't be surprised to see some BDS amendments to the party platform as well as some extreme 'abolish the border', 'abolish the police', guaranteed federal funding for abortion, etc. l

Thank you for this report and analysis.

Re: "It’s not much of a “genocide,” since there are vastly more Palestinians than there were when their first effort to exterminate the Jews in Israel failed in 1948, which is what’s remembered in the “Nakba” reference. If the Israelis wanted a genocide, they’d have one. But they don’t want one"

If Israel's government/people wanted a genocide of the Muslims, they would start at home. More than a million Muslims are full citizens in Israel. They would be the likely first target for "genocide".

Impunity. There is no penalty to those who harass and threaten. There is no penalty to the agitators.

In 1939 the American Nazi Party Held a rally at MSG in NYC. Before the rally a judge in NY called Meyer Lansky and asked him to make sure it will never happen again. Lansky asked if he wants to have them killed. the judge said no. Just make sure it doesn't happen again. Lansky called the Mob from other cities. When the Nazis left the Garden, they were met outside by baseball bats. Never another rally.

Dear Professor Reynolds,

"...it’s just that words don’t mean anything to the left. And why should they? They get away with murder, both linguistically and literally." I appreciate your continued use of strong language - effectively! But, even more I appreciate your soldiering on.

Harvard & Columbia both should lose tax exempt status for having less than 30% Republicans on their Boards, and among their professors.

Should be a requirement for all edu orgs to be tax exempt, with at least 30% Democrats, also.

This is a deeper discussion. As a society, we benefit by having an educated population. There are positive externalities from it. The obvious problem is that education has been taken over by the marxist teachers union, and left wing. There also is abuse of endowments since they appear to be nothing more than tax free hedge funds. Government funds most of the research at universities across the country. What happens if it stops? While we like to poke fun at much of it there is quite a bit of research that is beneficial. Would the private sector pick it up? Government funding research in the private sector would have its own problems.

Govt funding has gone to DEI and AA discrimination against whites and Asians. Secret, illegal discrimination and quotas, dishonestly presented as politically neutral.

If the money stops because the Boards don’t have Republicans, they will change rapidly and get more Republicans.

Peaceful freedom requires peace with those who disagree. Republican representation should be a requirement to get govt benefits. Party is the most important chosen identity for Americans, and Diversity & Inclusion are good only when they mean Reps & Dems, together, peacefully disagreeing. A bit like prosecutors and defense attorneys, trying to find “Truth”.

These students have been poorly schooled, and are void of critical thinking, and void of being able to sort the lies of their masterss from the experience of their lives. Huge waste of time and money.
