Glenn, Instapundit and your substack articles are a real help to our family as we "muddle through" these challenging times "somehow." Blessings to you and family, and many thanks for the hard work you and the Instapundit crew invest in keeping us informed, entertained, and aware.

I absolutely agree. Judy Garland's rendition is my favorite non-religious Christmas carol too. She sings to her little sister Tootie, a song of hope to comfort her. The line "Until then, we'll have to muddle through somehow" so fits the time, WWII, people people getting by the best they could, dealing with it, sacrificing in ways most of us can hardly imagine. We do face a similar threat again today. That Christmas star shines brightest in the darkness. Thanks, Judy. Beautiful. Thanks, Good Professor. Merry Christmas to all.

There's something about quasi-melancholy music at Christmas. It's a time of year that simultaneously incites great joy and great sorrow. Lost my dad two years ago. Got an amazing wife and three great kids but still, there is a lot of muddling right now. Glenn, thank you for all you do. Have a merry Christmas!

Boy, what a memory that Pure Oil album gift for Christmas brings! In the 50s and early 60s my Dad got those limited edition branded albums for Christmas as vendor gifts and we played them a lot. Yes they had all the old standard chestnuts that you mention that we still hear today from time to time. Your writing and ruminations are a source of delight and edification-Press On.

With all the practice we've had since the WuFlu Fiasco, we should all be pretty good muddlers by now. Let's muddle up a nice warming cocktail and have a Merry Little Christmas now.
