I’m a delusional conspiracy nut, according to my Lefty acquaintances, because I’m convinced by a preponderance of evidence that the 2020 election was stolen. But they think a lame duck President can decree a constitutional amendment, and that’s just common sense.
There’s good reason to believe the 2020 election was stolen, though it probably was not the result of a gigantic conspiracy, though in some places that was certainly the case. Rather, it was likely the result of a great many people and organizations, nationwide, operating independently, each in their/its own little way, doing what could be done to at their jobs and in their places, block the recognition and counting of votes for anyone other than their own party’s representatives and candidates and hoping for the best.
As to the lame duck president, see California and be grateful the consequences of this sort of blindness were ‘just’ limited to there.
More preference cascade: the medical establishment is now publishing anti vaccine, anti-fluoride studies! I never thought I’d see the day. JAMA goes MAHA:
It is going to be a wonderful inauguration. I never thought I would see such a sea change in my lifetime, all this optimism and renaissance. And I was a former Democrat!
It didn't have to be DJT who would become a champion of normalcy and of our nation and its great principles, but it has turned out to be him. So we will raise our mimosas to him Monday morning. There will be time enough for worrying and second guessing and cabinet quarrels but today everything is just aces.
Amen. The residents of California paid a terrible price for enabling and entrenching leftists and progressives, a hard lesson for all the world to see. We should be thankful the experience and damage were ‘limited’ to California, that the United States Navy or defense department were tested similarly. A similar example of the price paid for ignoring the blatantly obvious has unfolded in Israel and to an extent in Ukraine. Further, the ramifications of open borders are yet to be addressed.
None of these situations are over. There is a tremendous amount of work to be done to clean these up; It must be done very carefully and require equal amounts of extreme caution and clear-eyed confidence.
I have had dinner with people from both France and China in the past month. Everyone is heavily invested in American politics. They read the election news and all the news in the run-up to the election. In 2016, the Chinese told me they were against Trump. In 2024, they wanted to see America elect Trump. It's a 180 degree reversal.
Joe Biden and his administration did so much damage to America, and to America overseas that people outwardly embraced and wanted Trump (a man they detested a short time ago)
Man, I'd love to believe it, Glenn. But from what I've seen of the confirmation hearings, I'm afraid The Resistance is alive and well. Wake me when Wikipedia starts cracking down on attacks on conservatives.
I didn't catch it all, but I did catch much of the hearings. I think Trump's cabinet nominees took the fire from the bellies of the Hee Haws. Hirono, Warren, Gillibrand, and Sanders got a little hysterical, but they were rather easily handled by the candidates. Bernie got slammed with possibly one of the heavier mic-drops in recent congressional history by our new Treasury Secretary, Scott Bessent. Maybe they're keeping their powder dry for Tulsi, Bobby, and Kash, but I think they'll do okay, too. Tulsi's my favorite person out of the bunch, but she might have the toughest time. Wouldn't she be great as Director of the Peace Corps? Have surfboard, ukelele, and the Spirit of Aloha, will travel.
I believe that while Trump is the major force behind this revolution, people have the success of Argentina in the back of their minds. It’s a lot easier to support Trump’s agenda with that object lesson at hand. I think Milei deserves more credit.
I love DJT. I trust him far more than probably anyone else in the U.S. government. But I'm not sure I like him having the power to amend the U.S. constitution by tweet. Those are the new rules now, right? I kind of like the old rules on amending our nation's core document.

Sigh.

Good one, Glenn! Thanks.
I learned two startling facts today:
1. President Biden met with his cabinet only seven times. President Trump met with his over 50 times.
2. Pam Bondi is 59 years old! She might be rather awesome. I thought she was mid-40s and kind of youngish for AG.
Right on. Happy DJT Day everybody! Happy MLK Day, too. My tradition is to re-read "Letter from a Birmingham Jail" every MLK Day.
May the MAGA be with you.
That's because she's an immortal vampiress.
Fascinating.
Trump’s victory over (really) the mostly anonymous people with lanyards hung around their 11-inch necks is indeed a glorious thing!
Now let’s get to work.

But Stephen Colbert and Joy [sic] Reid claim they'll be incarcerated at re-education camps!
We can only hope! :D

Here’s to DJT day.
“ . . . Navy and defense department were NOT tested similarly.”
Biden is daily adding more reasons for him to be classified as the most clueless and worst president in history.
MSM is toast and the elitist Dem ruling class has lost their legitimacy as a result.
I wanna see people go to prison for their participation in the social media censorship.

I just want to note that MLK was born on January 15 and the Constitution called dibs on January 20 in 1932.
