My campaign scheduler ate one on the road this week to Reno from Las Vegas. Said it was very good. We are making our way all over the state of Nevada. Follow and support us here jeffcarternv.com
I had one and thought it was good. But nearly big enough for two lunches for me. Not sure if I'd order it again, I like the QPC single, sandwich-only these days. And I'd appreciate a Big Mac with a bigger burger size.
Yeah, it's really big. I'd never normally order that unless I was expecting not to eat again that day. Now when I was in college my normal fast food meal was a Wendy's Triple with cheese (like 1100-1200 calories) and a large fries. And I weighed 160.
This has become a controversial point of debate in my family. My bothers LOVE In-n-Out. It's almost a religion to them. Recently we were with our father in the drive through of In-n-Out and he declared that he had tried the Arch and thought it was better than the Double Double. We were incredulous. (side note: while I like the Double Double, and appreciate the fresh ingredients, I think it's the most over rated burger in fast food and their fries absolutely suck. So of everyone in my family, I'm the most "impartial" on the subject of Double Double vs Arch). All this said, I decided to do a head to head taste off with both burgers. Glenn is right, the Arch is damn tasty! McDonalds can't hold a candle to In-n-Out in the freshness department (or the clean kitchen on display department for that matter) but the Arch is the hands down winner on flavor. And even without the tallow, McDonalds fries are better than In-n-Out's, but that's a low bar. How they don't fix that issue is a mystery to me.
It's impossible to eat a quarter pounder they're so huge. But I'll follow our existing process when I order a Big Arch: eat what I want and give the rest to the Minister of Finance.
I don't like my burgers messed with. Mom & Pop diners seems to know this and since moving to Texas, all the bistro's & breweries just wanna lard up burgers, and chicken sandwiches with everything and sauces making them messy, difficult to eat at an enjoyable pace, and a trip to the washroom to clean up afterwards. There are some good burger chains, and the aforementioned Mom & Pop places, (also the best for breakfasts). I'm grateful for the choices but, I like things pretty basic.
But when do they bring back the tallow fries?!
How about the ultimate: french fries made from fresh potatoes. Not frozen.
Love the comment on the Big Arch as a testimony to the Trump Era. Trump demonstrates Go Big or Go Home.
I'm so old I can remember when Carls Jr. sold a tasty $2 hamburger.

Glad you got a (slightly messy) Winner! Glad for McD's as well.
I’ve been a double-cheeseburger guy for a long time (actually four or five of them, to be honest), but I will have to try the Arch!
Perfesser- Thanks for the report. Glad to hear it was good. Micky-D's needs some good news...
